Well known Alice Springs painter and printmaker, Neridah Stockley, has been at Basil Hall Editions to make some new images. We have been trying to get this to happen for about ten years, so it was great to finally get together over some plates. Neridah made 13 new images, using a variety of media including soft ground, hard ground and aquatint – similar to the way she draws. As we developed and proofed the works, Neridah decided to add colour, and we did this by mono printing in selected areas of the key plate, rather than making a new colour plate for each. We managed to edition 10 of the prints in full colour while she was in Braidwood and she then had time to try three brushed sugar lifts (one is seen here) on the last day. A big week, but we still had time to have a Braidwood pizza and coffee and dumplings at Deadwood! Thanks to Cecile for allowing Neridah to stay in her house.
